EXPLANATION: The topic of this song is our poor treatment of the elderly
in Hong Kong. Everyday we see old men and women (people who BROUGHT
us into this world AND who we should be taking CARE of) cleaning the
streets of Hong Kong. You can see these old men/women looking through
garbage to find anything that they can make some money (for example:
they look for Coca-Cola cans). How about all the homeless old people
we see? How come they don't have a place to go? How come they have no
choice but to work in McDonalds cleaning young people's trash? This song
talks about how fragile our grandfathers and grandmothers are. In their
old age they are not as strong as before (OBVIOUSLY!) so the fact
that they still have to work HARD in their old age is not only UNFAIR
but SAD. This song's view is from an old man's eyes who of course has
lost hope in his society. He has lost hope because he knows that when he
was young he helped society in a positive way - paying taxes, voting,
etc...- but now in his old age his energy is weak and so society doesn't
want to help him. He thinks he is no use to society anymore so
society will not feed and look after him. For him - he feels that if
maybe someday he cannot see (goes blind) society anymore...maybe THEN he
will finally be free...

MEANING: Racism, discrimination and blatant intolerance for people of
different races, nationalities and backgrounds are what wee addressing
here. Our main concern is the education systems of Hong Kong public
schools where students are forced to recite and memorize ambiguous
babble instead of having things clearly and coherently explained about
the world around them. This in turn leaves kids hitting the streets
without a single word of the garbage that gets rammed into their heads
while at school leaving any sort of impact whatsoever as they interact
within the larger community. Its almost like the education body of
Hong Kong is out doing this on purpose, creating a bitter and socially
intolerant society for the betterment of what ?we don know. We sit
back and watch the mess unfold daily and yet have no one to blame but
ourselves for not saying anything sooner.

MEAING: Members of this band are not members of any majority race of
Hong Kong population. Life for us as kids growing up in Hong Kong
close-minded society was difficult, packed with memories that at times
are too painful to recall. For many kids, attending schools in Hong Kong
was an unnecessary ordeal in itself with constant name-calling and
ridiculing of those classmates who were different from the rest in terms
of color of skin, way of talk, sense of dress and countless other
differences based solely on cultural backgrounds. The end line ?"IN TSIK
AH KO" is a Tagalog phrase of the sentence "I am Chinese". We can let
you figure out what that all about.

have to balance modernization with our cultural backgrounds. Without a
doubt, females in Asian societies endure hardships that males would
NEVER have to or ever will have to face. This track is through the
eyes of the countless people we have befriended over the years
summarizing their daily struggles in wanting to be themselves but due to
cultural barriers and other such restrictions are forced to cover their
true identities and personalities with a culturally obedient coat
that their parents and communities can be more "proud" of.

MEANING: Our busy little money-oriented city of Hong Kong doesn take
time out often to take a look around at the side-effects of our greed.
As we run from meeting to meeting we don notice the children
standing at intersections coughing and choking from the horrendous
gray cloud of thick smoke that a double-decker bus just exhausted
directly into the child face. Even worst, as we stand at the
intersections ignoring the suffocating children we choose to ridicule
the newest measure of preserving our environment certain brave
individuals try to promote, such as an electric-powered taxi/mini-bus or
something as alien as recycling cans inside MTR stations. Individuals
like these are rare in Hong Kong and their dedication to providing a
healthy future for our children should be inspiration to us all.
Instead, standing their waiting to cross the road on our way to an
important meeting we don applaud. We point and laugh.

MEANING: Hey, this band isn always so damn angry ? when wee not
angry we are actually sad or, drum roll please, happy. This song was
written before we had actually formed and was written during those
painful months when some members found themselves band-less due to
external circumstances resulting in life being caught in limbo. The
memories of playing in front of an audience, as they dissect your lyrics
and music, was something that we missed dearly. Playing in a band is
something both magical and heart-wrenching because by pouring your heart
on stage and in front of an audience, is to leave yourself out for
criticism. Its hard to accept negative criticism but, you better get
used to it buddy. Just give it your all and as long as you live by
that motto, criticism or any other negative rumors floating around
will never come close to touching you.

Certain people do nothing more then laze around waiting for people to
invite them to perform at shows before they even consider attending one.
While others are working night and day to build something special in
our beautiful little city it pains us to think about those that are
sitting at home while local bands are out busting their ass on some tiny
little stage, bar, school or university in front of maybe a handful
of people. What if everyone did his or her part? Is it really that
difficult to fit attending shows into your schedules? Is it really
that hard to even make a gesture to introduce yourself to other
members of our music community? Are you that absorbed in "keeping
face" that you can come down and help out a new band?
